Once a year, ENL opens enrollment for the instructor training course in nosework — a unique educational program that covers all aspects of this fascinating discipline: from the basic understanding of the nuances of scenting to the subtleties of judging and conducting competitions.
Training format
The course consists of three consecutive sessions – 168 academic hours, each of which includes:
- Theoretical blocks
- Intensive practical sessions
- Homework assignments with analysis
- Full practice days
Course objectives
- Training of qualified instructors capable of training dogs and their handlers at a high level.
- Formation of a deep understanding of search behavior, motivation, interaction, and training methods.
- Preparation for work in both sports and practical nosework, including the organization of competitions.
Who can train
- The first basic course is open to everyone: both professional cynologists and beginners.
The first training course is perfect not only for those who plan to become nosework instructors. It is also designed for dog owners who want to better understand their pet, delve deeper into the nuances of search behavior, and learn to approach training professionally.
The basic course is a solid foundation on which confidence, precision, and joy of working together are built.
- The second and third courses are for those who have already completed the previous level and are ready to move forward - to become professional trainers.
- To qualify for the final exam, it is required to have three students who have completed the basic course and passed the scent knowledge test.
Upon completion of the course
- After successfully passing all three exams, you will receive a nosework instructor diploma.
- Certified specialists obtain the status of ENL instructor and the opportunity to organize training, conduct scent knowledge tests, and participate in the development of nosework at a high level.
This complete course is not just training. It is a path to professional development, to new knowledge, acquaintance with colleagues, experience, and incredible pleasure from working with dogs.
