History of Nosework
NoseWork was founded in 2006 in Southern California. A team of dog trainers set a goal to come up with a universal activity that any dog could do, regardless of breed, age, physical or mental characteristics. The founders of NoseWork – the National Association of Canine Scent Work – actively promote the philosophy of the activity by training dogs and their owners, holding competitions and preparing dog trainers for NoseWork.
Nosework is
- A type of training that allows any dog to utilize its ability to search and analyze scents.
- A fun pastime for dogs and their owners.
- A game that helps develop and mentally stimulate a dog.
- Interesting competitions where age and breed do not matter, but desire and ability to "work with the nose" are important.
